{Field Trip #1}

On Friday Jan. 28
Addies preschool class went on a
field trip to Smiths Grocery Store.
The story manager, Le Ann, was kind
enough to take them around and give them
a tour of the grocery store including all the
places you wouldn't normally get to go
when you are customer shopping there.

They started at the front of the store and made their
way around all the outsides isles of the store such as:
The Pharmacy, the post office, the freezer section
(which they got to go back in milk section and go through
the freezer there), the meat department, the ice cream
freezer, the loading dock, the box crusher,
the produce department, the deli and last
but not least the Bakery where they
watched a very talented employee decorate a cake
and write St. Marks Day School on it...as
it was for her class to take home and eat
for their snack!!!
In the Meat department the kids and parents all had
to wear these fun hair nets!! The kids thought it was great!
They watched the butcher ground up hamburger
and the packaging process of BIG crabs and steaks.
This was so fun for me to join her class on their
little field trip. The kids are hilarious and want
to tell you everything they know. The store manager,
Le Ann was so sweet and tried listening to everything
the kids had to say while keeping the tour going.

{Cake Decorating class: Week 1}

I started a beginning cake decorating class at
the Casper College. It's once a week for 2 hours
in the evening. Its a perfect break for me during
the week. Tyler has been so supportive and so
willing to watch the kids so I could enjoy this
little class and learn something new.
We started with basic icing shapes
and techniques: like bag and hand position when
icing and making stars. We practiced on our boards
and on cookies. Next week we get to put to practice
what we learned this week on a real cake!

Family Names: by Addie

Lately, Addie has really enjoyed
writing letters and writing words or names.
And I have to admit she is pretty darn good
at it too....So good, I had to take a picture of
it so I could remember it always. She's not even
four yet and she writes better than her Dad!!
( I did not help her with a single letter this is 100% Addies finest work)
I have to brag about this because im her
Mom and I feel that I have the total
right to do so. Every day she is constantly
surprising me with her knowledge of
things and the ability to write,
color (like staying in the lines),
and make believe. She has quite the
imagination. She is loving school and
brings home the best artistic creations
ever! We just love this little lady and
feel so blessed to have her in our lives.

MLK Weekend

Yay for visitors! My sister Marie and her husband Ian
on a last minute whim decided to make the drive and come out to
visit us for the weekend. We had so much fun with them here.

The kids absolutely loved having Aunt Rie and Uncle Ian
here...someone else fun to play with other than Mom and Dad!!
We started the weekend by going sledding up on Casper Mtn.
Then we went out to dinner that night. It was so pleasant
to have 2 hours of adult time. We got a babysitter for the kids
and therefore enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner at Sanfords.

Trey out did Addie out in the snow. It only one run
down and she was done. So she sat in the car and pouted
while we had fun sledding, racing, and making snow angels.

Our last run down was AWESOME!! We decided to do
a train (both kids were in the car by now) So Marie, Ian,
Tyler and myself lined up both the sleds and all jumped on
and had a killer ride down the hill. In the top right
corner picture you can see our track all the way down.

Thanks for coming Ian and Marie! We had so
much with you guys!

The luckiest girl in the world....

....would be me for having such
an amazing husband!

I love a bouquet of fresh flowers
I love that Tyler knows that I love bouquets of fresh flowers
I love that he surprised me with this beautiful bouquet of flowers
And I especially love that he did it for no other reason than...
He loves me.

Half time Entertainment

A little half time entertainment provided by Trey and Addie Hansen during a Oilers Hockey game on Saturday Jan. 9 in Casper!
(We have so much fun going to these games! Can't beat free, a good game, and great company!)
Q: How much popcorn can Trey
possibly shove in his mouth?

A: Not enough.

And for the last act of the night...
Addie Hansen and her many faces.

Sledding

Daddy took Saturday morning off of studying so we went
sledding on top of Casper Mountain. We were going to
just try and find a hill to sled on but as we were driving
we noticed a sledding hill that was meant for sledding...score!
The kids had so much fun going down
with daddy. I totally forgot to pack my snow boots so I
designated myself as the official picture taker!

First Day of School

Excited I think not.

Ecstatic. Elated. Over joyed. I think YES!
Addie started preschool on Monday Jan. 10, 2011
at St. Marks Day School.
And you can tell by our little photo shoot
that she was more than excited to start school!
