Halloween 2009

"Gimmie some ones!"
(sorry only people in my family will understand that phrase or think its funny! Basically I used to call
M&M's "ones" when I was little because when ever some one offered them to me they
would say, "do you want one" so i associated them as "Ones!")
....Happy Halloween! Here are our cute
little M&M's!

Treyster, our plump little peanut M&M!

And Addie girl, our slender plain blue M&M!

Grandpa and Grandma Hansen treated the kids with gift cards to "Old McDonald"(as Addie calls it). Since they couldn't be here to take them Tyler and I took them the night before Halloween for dinner. Addie loved her Happy Meal and Trey loved being around all the food! He actually stole a nugget out of Addie's hand when she wasn't looking...it was hilarious!

And here's the stash of the night!

We tried training Addie all day to pick only Gold shiny packages with red writing on them.(twix). Guess our training didn't work so well as she came home with only 3! Shucks.

Over all we had a great halloween and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and talent show at our ward party then topped off the night with some cold Trunk-or-Treating! Addie had a blast and made sure she and Daddy went to every car. She didn't miss a single one!

A New Tradition

Last year we ate soup out of a pumpkin on
Halloween night. I thought it was so fun I
decided to do it again this year. The best part
about it was Addie was able to join in the
fun of "gutting" out the pumpkins to help prepare
them for our fun dinner!

Ready to dive in! Notice the spoon...she did not
like getting her hands in that slimey gooey pumpkin
stuff!
This is how it starts

cut the pumpkins in half

Clean them out
Enjoy an appetizer while your waiting for dinner....yummy roasted pumpkin seeds!

And soup is on! We did cauliflower soup with a little orange coloring for the full festive look! Addie sure loved eating her soup out of her pumpkin.

Why pay the money when.....

You can make it yourself!
My poor candles have been bare this season because
i'm too cheap to go out and buy candle wreaths until the
end of the season when they go majorly on sale...
I was explaining this to my mom when she said,
"why don't you just make your own!"...DUH!
So....
Heres what Addie and I did this morning/afternoon together!
Our very own Candle wreath and I love it!
All you need:
*Some wire
*Fresh picked Fall colored leaves
*Candle to put it around
Just string on the wire a lot of fun leaves to your desired length
and waa laa a beautiful festive candle wreath!
The best thing is Addie and I could do this together.
We spent the morning collecting leaves in a brown paper
bag. Addie absolutely loved going outside and helping
me pick leaves of all different colors. Then when little
brother went down for his nap she helped me string
on the leaves onto the wire while picking out what leaf
we would do next!
