4th week of March

Spring Break....WAHOOO!!
We spent the earlier part of the week
just hanging out with Daddy during the day,
playing outside, gave the van a deep
clean, watched basketball, basically just relaxed...
just what tyler needed and wanted!!
Then to top off the rest of his week we decided to
go on a little family trip. Thursday afternoon we loaded
up the kiddos and off we went to Omaha, Nebraska.
We even splurged and got
a hotel for one night!;)
The drive there was so pleasant.
The kids watched a movie, Tyler and I got to
talk, we had beautiful sunshine with us the whole way.
(And Trey LOVED loved LOVED being able to face forward!)
1st stop: Mormon Trail Center

Addie loved being able to dress up like
the pioneers. And to my surprise she
absolutely LOVED learning about the
pioneers and the church history.

And heres T. boy in his Pioneer cowboy get up!

Addie wore her sweet little pioneer outfit for the entire tour.
And loved to pack up the little wagons like the pioneers
would have in their day.

Hansen family pulling our handcart.
We had a great time at the Mormon Trail Center
and even had a fun surprise when we arrived there.
Sister Jolley a Missionary who is from Tylers home town
who Tyler taught in a missionary prep class before we got married
was serving at the Trail Center on this particular day
and was able to give us the tour.

2nd stop: Winter Quarters Temple

Unfortunately the temple was closed
for cleaning so Tyler and I couldn't go
like we had hoped to do. However, we
had a great time walking around the beautiful
temple and enjoying the spirit we felt while
being there.

3rd stop: Dinner...
one word
YUCK!
(I honestly can't believe I didn't walk out of there
the minute I stepped in. This was thee most disgusting place
i've ever been. We were all so hungry so we settled for this place
just so we could get back to the hotel to swim a.s.a.p.) BARF!
And BARF I did the following morning a couple times. It made
me so stinkin' sick.

Anyway, onto a better note.....

4th stop:
Comfort Inn Hotel
We got to go swimming, jump on the beds,
Eat waffles and cereal, and watch cartoons!!

5th stop:
The Henry Doorly ZOO

We spent 5 hours at the zoo
and the kids did absolutely amazing.
Not a peep out of Trey the whole time
and they both loved to see all the fun animals.

Addies personal favorite was the Aquarium.
We spent a good chunk of time in there.
Maybe she's like her mother and has a passion deep down
inside of her for the ocean and ocean life. Can't wait to take
her tide pooling someday!

Up close and personal with the penguins

And another all time favorite...the Giraffes!

This was seriously the BEST Family trip ever.
Great weather, Happy kids (the whole time),
Only a 2 hours driving in the car, Good memories (except dinner),
and best of all......just spending time together!
